Default Engine Mods for a b18c1 (Cam selection, Intake Manifold Selection)

uh yea the fun begins again ... i like how a ENTIRE ENGINE comes with out cams in it... **** off some people are.
Anyways all motor set up(dd of course) i need some ideas on cams since buying stocks are for losers.
And what else should i buy for a little extra HP? i was looking for an Intake Manifold but im kind of unsure what a good brand might be. ( dont want gasket blow out)
i know the obvious I/H/E but engine mods sound better ATM.
And how about Injectors? would newer ones make it run smoother?

Other things i was wondering was a good brand of clutch for DD use as in highway driving.
Im using the GSR transmission ( i for get the code)

all going into a 95 civic ej1 EX and OBD1

i had a stock b18c1 till i threw the a main bearing
i purchased skunk2 pro2 cams, pro ser. cam gears, pro ser. dual valvesprings and retainers, pro ser. intake mainfold, hondata intake mani gasket, dc 4-1 header, and a short ram w/ blox velocity stack... i also got type r rods and 5over type r pistons though to, its a DD as your after lol, and the clutch is a competition clutch stage 1 organic... I love the set up and it works on the daily!

Nice but Organic Clutch? Is that just a model name or something?

Yea im iffy about injectors i think the stocks should be fine unless it goes Forced induictions which i won't for a while.

Unless you are going to bump compression I recommend the skunk tuner stage 1 or 2 cams... I recommend replacing the valvetrain on both but only the stage 2 cams "require" it... I don't really think the intake manifold is necessary and upgrading injectors definitely isn't necessary...

Hmm i doubt i'll be able to pull off 200 hp all motor with out come crazy ****.

Well whats the advantage over pro to tuner? is there any website i can go onto to read up on this alittle more?
i was told to get a b16a head but for the amount of difference the gain would make ( very very little i looked into it before) not worth it. engine is currently in car as of 2:30 this morning. (then i left for work at 5 yay!)
thank god for energy drinks
and i think i'll either get a comp clutch or center force i had a centerforce in my old ej1 and like the grip even though it was a d series.

Ever think of looking in the All Motor Forum?

Putting a PR3 casting head (That's B16/ITR) will actually DECREASE your compression.

IDK if I'd go with Stage 2 cams on a stock compression engine. Stage 1s would be a good fit.

yea like i said i have overbored type r pistons so my compression is deff bumped for the stage 2s and if you buy tuner series you might as well buy the blox cams, blox is headed by a once skunk2 member who picked up the old tuner series contracts from the manufacturers thats why the skunk2 introduced the pro series, and if you buy stage 1s you might as well just buy type-r cams because they arent much more agressive and the clutch is a competition clutch stage one, idk what all names are for it, and like i said the tuner series is just the older design and blox did pick it up, the pro series **** that i have works wonders and i dont have a too too crazy of a set up and like i said im at about 190+ to the wheels and i drive her everyday all over the place, i have taken it on 4 hour trips with no problems

yea i have a 94 b18c gsr which recently bored .25 over through p73 RS machine pistons and type r cams i should be finishing it up pretty soon i jus need to slap the head on...im keeping the gsr head to keep my compression up it should do pretty good hopefully...nothing to big but should handle really well...im also debating on whether to through a valvetrain or not...some ppl say dnt but im not sure...

toda vtec killers FTW jk.

unless you plan on doing a high comp build i would not go past a stage 1 or 2 cam selection, it will also help make emissions easier. i like the blox b's or hsl's. skunks are nice but pricey. depends on the budget man

The advantage of tuner over pro is a more "streetable" powerband... Unless you are at the drag strip everyday that is what I would recommend...

For the person who says skunk2 stage 1 cams don't provide significant gains over type r cams that is simply not true... The skunk2 stage 1 cams have been proven to make "significant" gains over type r cams with proper tuning...

no worries about emmisions where i am at.

Stage 1's sound nice its just a stock motor at the end of the day. looking for a reliable beater for work so why not put a gsr in it even though it got 545,000 on it.

ordered a comp clutch today have to pull tranny off to put in (aren't i f***ing stupid, cmon some one say it haha)
