OBD-I to OBD-II. 97 EX engine into a 93 civic DX
I am about to swap out my 93DX motor I blew up to replace it with a 97 EX engine. I think I have all that is needed, but I've never done a swap like this before, so I was just double checking with you guys to make sure. I am going to get a 97 ECU and I am going to use my existing wire harness. Is there anything special I need to know about putting a higher OBD motor into my car?
Thanks in advance.

Use your stock DX harness and a OBDI P28 ecu from a 92-95 Civic Si or EX. It will make the job easier and you'll have less wiring hassles. If you do that, then you'll need to use a OBDI distributor and injectors, everything else will be plug and play with the exception of the vtec wiring.
If you decide to go with full OBDII (which I wouldn't recommend) you'll need to buy a jumper harness to change your ecu plugs to the OBDII style. You'll have a few more sensors to wire up and more troubleshooting ahead.

It is a pain to convert a OBD1 car into OBD2. I would suggest getting a P28 ecu as well and use your stock harness thats in the car. Otherwise you are looking at a nightmare. Another thing, the Crank Angle Sensor is in the oil pump on the 97 motor, you will have to rewire it from the stock harness since OBD1 cars have them right next to the cams. I may be wrong about that last part, I know B series are like that though.
you only have to replace the injectors and distributor because the obd1 plugs dont match the obd2 plugs????? so youd need a plug conversion too right?
cant you jut cut off the plugs and wire up the obd2 injectors and distributor to the obd1 harness?
i have never gotten a clear answer on this

Just use your 93 DX injectors and distributor, and your 93 wiring harness. You may need to extend a few wires, and add to the harness for Vtec, but then you'd be good for the P28 ECU, and no adapter worries. Also, the OBD2 motors have a Crank Fluctuation Sensor on the crank behind the pulley, not the Crank Angle Sensor. Thats inside the distributor just like any other 92-2001 motor, both B series and D series.
