ive seen a thread about it before but i cant seem to find it!
well i was wondering what kind of ecu i can use for my d17a1???
since i dont have the time and mney for a k24!

Stock? A chipped ECU is out of the question.

Unless you want to spend $1k on K-Pro, but it's kind of a waste unless you plan on building.

right now im buying a house so i dont want to spend the money on a k series nd also i have a dc2 shell which i want drop a b18c5 on it, so im keeping my d17a1 on it for a while and im upgrading my single cam thats why i was wondering, and i think the k pro should be better that the AEM plug and play one right? and what would i need just the k pro thats all???

i was told i could get a chiped ecu nd plug it into my em2 thats where the question comes from.

You can't flash the ECU for the D17s, you either piggy back or use stand alone engine management.

The amount of money you'll spend to really "upgrade" your D17 would be better set-aside for a k-swap in the future. In that case, yes you will need K-Pro.

For the time being, you could use a stand-alone EMS, but it really won't do much of anything.

i heard K pro with cam gear on a stock D17 can reach about 120 whp. Some dude on 7thgenhonda has that setup.

well its my everyday car but i wanted to boost it but i was told the block is not strong enough to support boost but yet ive seen so many d17s boosted.

theyre probly not boosted for long lol. my trans gave out on 114k miles and had to repair it, and thats just with cold air intake.

5 speed m/t i only drive automatic on trucks! thanks for the info so its not worth buying an obd cable for the obd1 thing?

oh i know its not obd1 but the extension harness for the conversion thats what i ment
