Thank you ahead of time for help. I have a 89 DX Hatchy Dropped a d16z6 into converted my original dx harness to mpfi followed instructions from numerous wiring diagrams. So what ive done Im running everything odb1 injectors, dizzy, ecu. I have a odb0 to odb1 jumper harness for the ecu and converted my dizzy plugs to odb1 i also eliminated the resistor box cuz im running odb1 plugs and im using a odb1 P75. So car cranks theres fuel going to the injectors i have power going to the dizzy. but i am not getting any spark to spark plugs. What i did a test was a took the dizzy off and set it to a ground on the motor turned the ignition switch on and turned the dizzy manually and it sparked so could it be a ground?? o have some of the sensors plugd in not all because i just wanna hear it start first and put everything back together if someone can please help i have cae sitting!!! and tryd everything lookd over wiring checkd grounds could it be my ecu? Please Help

 

why a p75? p75 is for a non vtec motor which is the B18 and isnt p75 ecu obd2?

 

p75 come both in obd1 and obd2 variants. not sure why op isn't using a p28 though. that being said, the car should still run even with that ecu.

op: do you smell fuel and have you determined if the injectors are firing? are you gettin a check engine light?

 

Yes i smell fuel and check engine light does turn on and i know the p75 is for a ls and it is odb1 i am going to get a p28 soon im pretty sure the injectors are firing but not sure because i have no spark

 

Could it be that it is not str\arting because i do not have all the sensors plugd in i just wanna start it real quick and put it back together and drive it

 

COuld it maybe be mu ecu cuz ive seen other threads saying if your check engine light stays on for more then 5 seconds and doesnt turn off it says that i will never get spark dont know if thats true tought it would be easy but its turning into a nightmare and fat headache ill check this page wen i get off work tomorow to see if there is any more help wana get this motor running any help is apreciated

 

well generally speaking most sensors on an engine are there for a reason. what don't you have plugged in?

 

I know plenty of ppl that I've helped with similar issues. If you did a swap of anything wiring wise, for kicks, grab a set of jumper cables, and ground the block to the battery, see if it fires. Usually the block grounds go faulty, or.......most common, the ECU ground is actually on the thermostat housing. And if you had that off at any point, or its gone crusty, it will cause issues.

 

Will try the jumper cables to the block to see if it starts. and the sensors i have off are O2 and the other one below the map sensor not sure which one it is but it is kind underneath the intake close to the firewall

 

bump I am having the same exact problems.

 

So long as the IACV, TPS, & MAP are connected, you should get it to fire and idle correctly. O2 and coolant/iat sensors will be needed for open loop (once engine warms up). Give the ground check a go and lemme know.

 

Ok peeps i got spark now but now i got a fuel problem i get alot of fuel in the rail but the injectors are not shooting any fuel into the spark plugs i started the car with starting fluid cranked right up i deleted the resistor box ima check what voltage am i getting to the injectors i think im supposed to get 10 to 12 volts right?? anyone knw wat can it be?

 

Just carry starter fluid around with you. Easier fix. Haha. I'm only kidding
