i was hoping someone could help me identify this sensor...it's the one to the right of the TB and right under the PGM-FI..

it is a vacuum dashpot.

It's function is to slow the closing of the throttle valve when it is suddenly closed during gear shifting or deceleration.

PURPOSE
This helps lower Carbon Monoxide (CO) emissions caused by sudden engine deceleration. Upon sudden deceleration, vacuum is applied to the Dashpot diaphragm and the diaphragm rod prevents the throttle valve from closing too quickly. okay thanks now another question, if i were to use a obd1 im would i need the vacuum dashpot..

doesn't matter what obd# you are running really. some people use them, some cap them off.
