aftermarket or oem dizzy???
I just bought a new dizzy for my car from bumper to bumper and it runs really sluggish now.. took it back swapped it for another one did the same thing.. i took it to a shop and they said the dizzy is bad and to buy an oem one so i called honda and they want $590!! What are you guys thoughts??
The cheap aftermarket ones are junk. Distributor king are supposed to be ok, but OEM is where its at. BTW you can buy just the housing with the 3 sensors if thats all thats bad, you just have to reuse your coil and igniter.
If you buy the OEM housing (which comes with the bearing and 3 sensors) they're around $120 for a D15B7/D15B8, I believe the D16Z6 version is a fair bit more. I can't recall the prices on B or H-series distributors. You can also go used.
i called and got a quote on the housing with ignitor coil and rotor all came out to $590 its for 00 civic si b16..

I got a rebuilt one for my B20 from O'Riley's that doesn't seem bad. The casing seems to be OE Honda. Paid about $180 for it I think. I haven't had it on for long, but it works good.
Same boat here - no WAY I was paying Honda dealer prices for that bish.

I just bought a Dizzy King. Since I am nowhere near my car, I can't say anything yet. My GF had her uncle install it while I am away. I'll let you know in 6 weeks.
thanks alot man might have to check it out.. whats the warranty with it?
Good question. I can't remember if it's a year or lifetime. I think it might be lifetime... A LOT of remanned O'Riley's stuff is.
According to their website, it looks like they're lifetime. Looks like the one I remember buying was $261, but that was with like a $100 core charge, meaning I actually paid like $361, and then they refunded me $100 when I brought back my used one. Something like that.
I have a love/hate with O'Riley's. They sell a lot of crap, but they have a few decent deals on decent aftermarket parts.
