Default distributor questions!

I was wondering if I should buy a remanufactored distributor.. or a new one like a OEM replacement and if so.what brand.has people had good luck with ?? Any input is always good..its for.a bone stock d16y8

No. OEM distributors
After market is very well known to have issues.

remanufacture if fine its just an oem cleaned up and with new internals

it depends where you going to buy it. some new china brands will work less reliability than 2nd hand oem good cond. dizzy.

yea but i never had any problems with em from autozone for old cars like chevy and fords good quility be it a points or electronic

Honda-tech.com. Not chevy-tech.com. Not ford-tech.com. OEM is far superior, and will easily outlast any part store replacement ignition parts.

i know what site im on i was just saying that as an example that ive havent ever had problems with rebuilt dizzys besides oem honda aint cheap expesially new and when it comes to used i try not to cause electronics are hard to tell if there good or bad by looking at em

If you haven't had problems with remanufactured Honda distributors then you haven't used any. Seriously, they are that bad.

Spend a little money now to do it right, or spend more money later to fix it. Your choice.

It's becuase they aren't anything like Honda's! Brands that might work with a ford, get rejected with a quickness in a Honda.


I haven't met a single person with a aftermarket distributor that didn't have issues.

truth. my buddy had MSD aftermarket stuff on a gsr ek and it FAILED by braking to a stop in gear to avoid an accident. switched it to oem dizzy and vroom well look at that......

LOL...

Buddy had a MSD distirbutor, it lasted 400 miles, and a handful of dyno runs. Quality stuff right there.
