So I searched and i cant seem to find a definitive answer

I have a 2001 DX manaul 5 spd, my cluster does NOT have a Tach now, just speedo, gas and temp.
I'm looking at replacing my cluster with a 2004 LX Cluster that has all the above and a Tach.
I know i need to re-pin the green and blue connectors to get the cluster to work, but my question is, Will the tach work? I called honda and they didnt know for sure, but the guy on the phone said that if my car didnt come with a tach then i may not have the tach wire in the connector.

Can anyone confirm for sure? is my car already pre-wired for the tach and just have a cheap cluster?

here a pic of my current cluster and the green plug on the back.
I read that the Tach wire is solid blue in the green connector. I have 2 blue wires, 1 is solid blue with small silver dots on it every half inch or so, the other is blue with a white stripe the full length with the same silver dots.

I have another question tho, I was compairing the wires in both my green and blue plugs with the DIY on how to change the pins for swapping clusters.
I seem to have 3 wires that are not on the diagram, and i seem to be missing a wire all together.

On my green plug, slot 13 i have a White/blue wire thats for the DRL control. In slot 1 i have a Pink wire for Washer Fluid level.
However in the DIY it doesnt mention these wires and i have no idea where they need to go??

on my Blue plug, slot 18, i have a Blue/Red wire thats for the ABS, however i dont have ABS, where does this one go? the diagram doesnt show it at all. Also I'm missing the Green/black wire in Slot 7 thats in the diagram, i have no idea why or what its for.
The Cluster i'm trying to install is from a 2003 Canadian LX.
Any Help?

my g/f has a canadian modeled 2005 dx, if i took out her cluster and copied the wiring thats in her blue and green plugs would that work?

 

im stuck with the same problem i have an 03 civic dx but i want to add a tach on it but i dont have the tach wire!
