Default OBD2-A P2E QUESTION

THERE IS A LOCAL SHOP IN MY AREA THAT IS HAVING TROUBLE WITH A CUSTOMER'S CAR. THEY ARE NOT A PERFORMANCE SHOP AND ARE JUST TRYING TO HELP OUT A CUSTOMER. THE CAR IS AN OBD2-B D16Y8 AND THE CUSTOMER BLEW UP THE ENGINE. THE CUSTOMER PROVIDED AN OBD2-A D16Y7 LONG BLOCK AND P2E ECU. SO EITHER THEY WOULD NEED A JUMPER HARNESS FOR THE OBD2-B TO OBD2-A OR JUST GET A OBD2-B ECU FOR THE DA6Y7 CORRECT? I TOLD THEM THIS IS SIMPLE BUT JUST TRYING TO COMFIRM THAT BOTH OPTIONS ARE CORRECT SINCE THEY WILL BE USING THE OBD2-B ENGINE HARNESS...
