How much oil does your ITR lose?
My R motor (97 spec HMO) loses, burns, and/or consumes no oil to my knowledge.. I check the dipstick often and there is no difference between oil changes. I wouldn't say 300mL's is bad for 1000miles of hard driving, but that is a quart every oil change. My other 01 ITR motor burns oil, about a quart per oil change so that is fairly typical but not a factory specification; bad piston rings or valvesteam seals maybe?

I have never seen a DOHC VTEC engine not burn oil under hard driving on the street or track.
It's one quart between the top and bottom dots. I don't know about metric countries, but if they probably sell oil in liter bottles, then it's probably one liter between the top and bottom dots.
Translation: he has 88,000 miles on the car, and goes through one quart every 2000 miles.
You're not consuming very much oil. Don't worry about it.

I burn 2 litres or more between oil changes (approx. 5,000 km), daily driver. No black smoke through the tail pipe but there's black haze on the bumper where the exhaust is (no catalytic converter will add to this effect).
I change my oil and filter every 2500 miles on the dot! I use Mobil1 fully synthetic 10w30 and a HAMP filter. I DD my 97 R and it gets driven hard at least once a week. From what i've gathered, it doesnt burn hardly any oil. Never measured very precisely but it always comes out still looking like honey. My R has had a lot of preventive maintainence and runs very healthy. Like the others said, you dont seem to be burning very much at all so i wouldnt sweat it if i were you!
