Default haveing a PROBLEM brakes related

i have a 90 crx came with drum brakes in the rear i put 96 gsr breaks on it the peddle is rock hard when the car is off now when i8 start it up it goes almost to the floor and is not hard i am using dot 4 synthetic brake fluid and the brakes are properly blead garenteed i replaced the master and still same problem only thing i can think of is prop valve i replaced it with a used 90 integra 40/40 earlier in the winter but i used heat to get the brake lines out of it so i think i might of did something to the valve what does it sound like too you guys???????

for bench bleeding google it and the MC and BB should be a 15/16 from a DA integra RS or a 90-91 crx si

so we are saying that i dont have a stiff peddle because i dont have the right master cylinder? isant there some type of presher release on the prop valve that i could of messed up with lots of heat from a torch?

p.s. also i had the prop valve a part to paint the braket is it posible that i messed up the valve also are the brake lines all ran the same and connected to the prop valve the same from the integra to the crx it seemed like the back pushed out more fluid than the front when bleeding.

it could be that you did damage your brake lines and prop valve or it could be you dont have enough brake fluid to power all four brake calipers.

P.S when I did my brake swap.My peddle didn't get stiff til I put in the correct MC and BB

what about the fact that it gets rock hard when the car is off would it do that if i did not have the right master also when i clamp off the vacume line the peddle gets rock hard as well when the car is on so i don not think it is the master but if i havfe to i will change it no big deal

yeah when the car is off, it will get rock hard even if you dont have the right master cylinder.because there's no power to the brake booster. It's the same when you take out the vaccum line off the brake booster, there's no power to the booster.

yes if you use them together. what you are describing, however, sounds like a) something is not bled or b) there is a leak somewhere in your brake system. did you bleed the brakes with the car running? if not, try bleeding your brakes again with the car running so you can simulate "real time braking" (that's what i call it since the brake booster isn't getting super stiff after three pumps or so)

also, make sure you're on a level surface when you bleed the brakes, and to bench bleed the master cylinder.

Yes it will work you just have to bend one brake line, because the brake lines are on opposite sides rather than on the same side. But you need reflare one brake line or get the M12/M10 IFF adapter.
