Default D15b7 Build

Hi everyone,

I'm new to this forum and wanted to say hi first off. I've been on the honda scene for a while but in all honesty didn't become much of a "tuner guy" until recent years. I've done engine swaps before and f/i but never really played with what honda engine could do until about 2007. Anyways, I'm starting a build just for fun.

I have a d15b7 sitting around (pulled from my 94 civic dx when I built and swapped my b16). I've decided to see what kind of power it can produce. I've seen quiet a great many threads on here (and other forums) about the hp/tq gains for a d15b7 but just want to try it for myself.

I'm sure some of you, much like a friend of mine Alex who would get on his knees and suck the dick of the honda god the b18 (in his mind), would tell me it's a wasted endeavour and I shouldn't bother or just go with the b series (which I'm already running), but if you must know why I'm wasting money and time the answer is simple...I just feel like doing it...

Regardless, the build will be NA (nothing against the forced induction guys out there i just want to run it NA to see what I can get). I'll finish posting my parts list up tomorrow but here's what I've done on a quick search:

1. Crower rods (I heard about eagle rods...cheaper...can anyone give me feedback on them?)
2. SRP pistons (comp ratio of ~10.5:1)
3. Full PnP
4. Wanting to do titanium springs (can't find them but if someone can point me in the right direction).

I'm looking for some advice (although I'll keep searching myself) on bearings, springs, valve-guide seals, etc...pretty much every part. I'm looking to get 150chp (because everyone knows torque wins a race and hp impresses the audience). If you ask why 150chp again, it's just an arbitrary goal I want to hit...just for personal pride. Pics to come within the next week or so. Hoping for advice sooner. I'll keep doing my research and update progress as it comes.

Thanks fellas (and ladies...)

If your goal is only 150 at the crank then why spend so much on forged pistons and rods?? You're talking about less than 130whp. There are near stock combinations that approach or surpass that.

Lots of good D15 discussion in here http://www.**********.com/naturally-...ormance-3.html

*edit* EFFING RETARDED *** HONDA-TECH CORPORATE MONSTER BULLSHIT won't let me post a link to a another honda forum that has tech.

Anyways the link was supposed to be onecam only dot com/naturally-aspirated/3567-d15b-non-vtec-oem-performance-3.html

The guy is inquiring (enquiring?) about how to build a simple and potent d15b nonVTEC. Lots of good discussion, most of which leads me to believe that your goal of 150chp is incredibly low.
