Forgive me if I'm wrong.... but I'm relatively sure that the new Evo's have a form of VTec anyways - Mivec. Anything is possible with copious amounts of money however, seen plenty of Toyota's with F20C's, the odd RX7 with one, hell I've even seen an EF9 Civic with a 12A Bridgeport Rotary in it..... Thing is, why would you bother putting a Honda engine into an Evo when it already has a half decent power unit anyways.
As for the other question..... everyone is putting K motors into older generation Civics these days.... it's not a new idea.

Come to think of it, all of the vehicles I mentioned were rear wheel drive (apart from the rotary powered EF9)..... also it's quite common to put an F20C (S2000 engine) into an AE86 - sure beats a standard 4AGE engine for power!!
No worries arkangel, I love a good debate!

Some would say putting an LS1 in an RX7 or S2k is a great thing too - but these are RWD platforms staying RWD with more power.
To suggest swapping an F or H series, even a K series that make <240hp FWD motor in an AWD turbo platform is a downgrade to say the least. There's no point of it, no power increase, no performance increase, etc

Also the civics are less prone to blowing the centre differential..... mainly due to not having one.
In other words you would have to launch at lower rpm's to prevent breakages of the AWD drive train in the Evo, that coupled with turbo lag can equal slower quarter mile times.

Re: Ultimate honda swaps - Hot topics
well a stock evo will be beaten by a daewoo assuming the daewoo has a LS1 under the hood. anything is possible but honda engines for the most part dont transfer to other cars easily. look at the specs yes a b18c is a fantastic engine for a teg but note the teg is light and the b18c has no torque (drive a integra uphill and u will notice). now take something more awd and more turbo and with more torque like an STI or Evo and notice that it can go up hill a lot faster even in mud.
do some research buddy, a kinky swap idea would be a 4g63 from an evo into a civic or a wagovan or something
