Icon2 Which External Coil is best to use.

Currently i have a stock ignition set up on my car stock wires, internal coil and dizzy. It was good for 600whp but this year im going to go with a precision 6765 so i want to make sure i have a strong spark. I was thinking bout doing a m and w pro 10 or a msd digital 6. some people been telling me that all i need is an external coil and ill be fine to max out that turbo.

so whats the coil to run ive been hearing that i need an HVC2 for my car but right now i have a new in the box ProPower HVC coil PN 8251 It was going to be used on another race car in conjunction with a 7AL3 but no longer going to use that set up. Do you guys know if this can be used with stock ignition even though it says right on the coil to be used with MSD 7 SERIES IGNITIONS ONLY?

whats the difference in the two and what do you guys recommend I just dont want to end up changing the coil twice.

if you want a less expensive cdi, you could look into the dynatec arc2. Its pretty common/popular in the dsm world, and its just straight badass. Not to mention, cheap.

hvc 2 blue is the best the hvc 2 red will burn up most boxes except the 7 series boxes. unless u have m@m ignition money??

i would use a ps92 from crane cams...best external coil out there in my opinion...we use them on our 600 and 800whp cars...no break up at all....

I was running the msd digital 6 with the blue hvcII coil then switch to the M&W pro 10 with the cranes cam ps92 coil.

will that work fine with a stock ignition or do i still need to run with a msd or m and w box? is the crane ps92 better then the msd hvc2 or are people running it because its a cheaper alternative?

Pretty sure you have to run a cdi box with it. It works great and it's $100 cheaper than the hvc II.

from what i read on msd's site the blaster ss coil puts out 40,000 v's and the blaster2 cylinder coil puts out 45 and so does the hvc2 so there for the blaster2 is the same right? will the ps92 coil work with my msd sci?
