Anyone know of bolts that require a special tool for removal?
I just left my house about an hour ago and noticed my rear mudflaps have been stolen. Feeling molested now I want to know if there are any type of bolts that would fit into the slot where mudflaps bolt in that I can get so this ******* can't do it again.
They left my front mudflaps though, interesting enough.
Also anyone have rear 1990 hatch mudflaps for sale?

ya previous owner of my car put a tire on one side that was rubbing the mudflap on that side only. i know they were stolen because both sides are gone and the other side wasn't rubbing at all so it's not like they were torn off while driving.
You could try some of the break head bolts that hold the ignition on. The head breaks off and to remove it you would have to cut a slot in it and use a flat head screwdriver. Dont know if that type of bolt would fit but that is the only thing that comes to mind at the moment. I got a complete set of mudflaps from my 91 civic si hatchback. $75 shipped.
Get 'em while you can. Honda still has a few of the rear CRX mudflaps. Sorry just noticed you have a hatch. But try Honda anyway, you never know.

I would definitely go with the Torx bolts idea. Torx bits typically don't come with basic tool sets. Especially the ones with a whole in the center for the bolts with studs in the center. I'm not sure what the name of those are. A lesser found tool in basic sets is the star sockets. So you could try and find some bolts like that.
Ya but that's just ****ed up.
Ya I'll definitely look into it, thanks.

It's not really just around the holes it's kinda like a frame to keep the shape. I just ordered mine from Honda maybe 2 months ago and you could see the metal frame and feel it if you tried to bend them
I just reattached one of my rear flaps, and it didn't have a metal ring (I don't think).
Of course, if they do cut them to remove them, their value would take a serious hit. So using bolts that would be a little harder to remove might help.

damn thats funny LOL peopole have to be real ghetto to steal mudflaps. just use star key bolts and a weird size. best thing no-one carry's star keys. thats what i did to my bike since everyone carry's allen keys.
if you pull hard enough, those mud flaps will come out from its location. i doubt any one wants to sit in the dark and snake their screw driver around the tire to remove a screw....
It was said up above I believe but just go to Harbor Freight and buy yourself a cheap rivet gun and just shoot some rivets into some new locations along with the stock bolts/screws. They'll have to drill out the rivets if they want your flaps.

Try these people, if not just try any other tamper proof style screws.
