Making this thread to help a buddy out he has a 97 coupe with a b16 trans si axles(autozone) **** poped out on the freeway don't know why does anyone have any info on why how this happen?

 

If the axles inner joints go bad it can disassemble..

 

Maybe the axle was never fully inserted into the transmission to engage the lock clip.

Its been in for about a year now just poped out yesterday might just take them back to autozone for exchange and see

 

im the buddy lol but yeah its been in for over a year i sure i put it in right because ive tried to take it out and it was stuck like it should be.. idk why i popped out on the freeway anyone have any advice? maybe because its lowered?

if you got them over a year ago chances are they are axles from the old distributor. i kept having this problem for years and the store manager finally told me about this.my buddy has been running the duralast new axles for about 9months now beats the **** out of his car and still no probs. he couldnt go 2months with out messing them up.

 

So he just needs to get oem **** not aftermarket?

 

no take back the axle cause it should still be under lifetime warranty and ask for the duralast brand axle. new or used. if you buy a new one they will just credit you your original purchase price and you should only have to pay like ten bucks or something

 

I had the same problem w/ an advance auto axle a while back, popped out on the freeway for no reason. I went to napa and bought a better part.

 

Don't buy axles from AutoZone or any Chinese 'new' axles!
1 outta 10 chances you might get lucky with that crap. If you do get lucky and it don't shake or popout, the boots will last 6 monthes tops.
Trust! Ive dealt with it already.
-take you losses,get an OEM one and have it rebuilt.
