CTR B16B inspection help!!!!
thanks in advance for any help...
trying to get my 2000 civic coupe to pass inspection. Its a full CTR swap and because of the ECU it won't pass because it wont communicate. Runs great with no check engine lights as is but would like it to pass legit. No serious engine mods, basically bolt-ons its for north carolina, not too bad but no communication and wont pass. If i go OBD1 then will ecu not match VIN or year..... Help please

what do you mean wont communicate.
which ecu are you currently running?
which ecu would you like to use?
what are the problems(be specific) that have stopped you from passing emissions?

OBD2 japanese ecus wont communicate with the computer at test stations in the us, mainly because they are obd1 ecus in a obd2 case. I second using a 00 si ecu and taking care of any cel's that may occur then bringing it for inspection.
hey im originally from NC. heres what you do. take a trip to hatteras. theres a garage across the street from a restaurant called Rocco's Italian Restaurant (i worked there lol 7 years)
but anyway. go across to the garage. forget the name of it. talk to either Todd or Bill. Bill is the owner and is the older guy. tell him Delmer Willis sent you.
heres how the inspection works.
check your lights, horn and wipers... and your on your way.

also i have a 99-00 si ecu and tried it.... think the code was something to do with the crank sensor and i may be wrong but pretty sure my 98 CTR does not have a crank sensor so the car wouldnt go past 3k-4k rpm. Can wires for it be twisted together to kinda jump it out?
