Default 195 vs 205

so heres the deal got new steelies(Minnesota has potholes you could lose your whole civic in.). and with them i'll need new tires. i stepped it up from the stock 13" to a 15". the 13 is 175/70/13

now to the question would a 195/50/15 or a 205/50/15 be better to run on them mostly performance wise?

with what most tire calculators say the 195 is basically spot on for keeping all the same measurements but the 205s isn't that far off either.

I don't know what would be better exactly. Back when I had my 15" Rota Circuit 8s on my car I was running 205/50-15s and I loved them. They gripped the road super well. Seems a lot of people run 195s over 205s but I don't know why for sure. Hopefully I will get some good info out of your thread as well.

I have been thinking of doing the same thing you have done which is find some 15" steelies from an Integra and putting good tires on them.

well its really up to you, because it really is almost the same thing. if you have a swap or more power i would just go 205s, if its just a single cam and/or daily driver either would be fine.
i do seem to find theres a slightly better selection of 205/50s out there, i could be wrong i just get that impression.

its a 95 sol with a sir2 b16a. it'll have more power then just bolt ons but it'll still be a summer dd.

i figured itd come down to a personal thing but i was just seeing if anyone had some personal experince using either both or either one. if theres no big reason 195s are better, besides keeping the dimensions i'll pry run 205s and just know the speedo may be off 1 or 2mph.

i got mine from an 01 civic ex. btw. 250 with 3 day shipping.

195's may give you better fuel mileage just because its thinner then the 205's

Typically I see people with wheels 6.5-5.5 inches wide run 195s and 7 inch wide wheels run 205s. I've run 195/50s on a 7 inch wheel, but they were too stretched for me.
