Default Can I use KPro for my inspection?

Hey there everyone, I got a few question concerning my CEL that is on, im not too sure whats going on, but its an o2 CEL, I tried killing the CEL but it will always come back on, i even switched the cat o2 to the front o2 to see if the code will still read the sensor sensor that was bad from the start, but it will always turn out to be the front o2, it happen to me after i boost my d17, i am assuming that i must have a shortage somewhere.

heres the deal, i have a buddie of mines that drives an rsx-s w/ kpro, he will let me use his ecu to turn off my o2 CEL since im not sure whats wrong with it. but my concerns is do i have to use a tru time cam? on 7thgenhonda, one of the member told me that if i was going to go the route of using the ecu, i must have the cam or i'll **** something up. any suggestions?

My civic is a 02 and his RSX is a 04 so it will plug up from my knowledge...

Running with K-Pro for a short term won't clear your CEL. With an Oxygen sensor problem, the K-Pro will still light up the CEL, unless it's a secondary Oxygen sensor problem. Then you could just disable that sensor with K-Pro. But, if it's a primary Oxygen sensor problem, K-Pro won't help you. Also, if you're just going to swap in the K-Pro, then swap back in your stock ECU... you will have solved nothing, as the code is stored in the ECU.

Also, without proper tuning of the K-Pro, you could cause serious damage to your drivetrain.

all i need to know if it will work, but i guess if you say that its the primary o2 wont work, then i guess i wont be able to use the ecu...if it works then i was thinking about putting it on and driving it to the inspection place...and so on...but yea...

If you're just looking to pass emissions, you have a 50% chance of it working, since you don't know which oxygen sensor is faulty. But, sadly, without a proper tune, you will damage your drivetrain by installing the K-Pro.

Yeah, that'll work. No bulb in the cluster always fools the testing equipment. The computer readouts will verify this.

That won't work, bud. Your car is OBDII, which means it's a car that gets plugged into the testing facility for diagnostics. Removing the bulb won't change the fact that the car is still throwing a code. The testing center technician will know that, and point out your broken bulb as well.

Your car won't run with out the cam gear. The timing marks for the kpro cam gear are completely different than the stock cam gear. Like I told you on 7thgen you will **** up everything in that head and more than likely your bottom end.

If it's your primary that is causing you issues kpro won't be able to disable that just secondary like mentioned already. GL.

..........why not just replace the primary o2 sensor?

of course switching o2 sensors isn't going to do anything. In most cases, the 2nd o2 sensor simply tells the ecu if the cat is doing its job, that is IT. It CANNOT perform the a/f adjustments that the primary o2 sensor does.

if your secondary o2 sensor is bad, just get a spark plug defouler for it
