Default Alternator Question

awrite so i got a car the i think the battery was dead, so i used my friends car battery and started the car. as soon as we disconected the battery to reatache to my battery the car died.

my question is - if you disconect the battery and the car dies does that mean the alternator is dead??

yup... the alternator is intended to keep the drain off the battery. The car starts with the battery then switches over to the alternator. And with a working car it won't matter that the battery is disconnected so check the alternator and replace the battery.
