Default Which transmission..

Doing my first B-series build on an itr block w/b16 head, 550whp. Question is, which transmission will support this build the best? I've heard itr, gsr, and b16are possibilities, but not sure which is better for my hp range. I'll be boosting but most runs will be made from speed, not off the line. The far and few in-between strip trips are a possibility, but rare. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

if your going boost, and your wanting to do rolls, go with gsr handsdown. that would be the best for your setup in my opinion.. b16's, and itr's are ridiculously short, and would not keep you in boost for long, so the next best thing would be gsr, ls. but ls is so long, and would be better on a 450hp+ setup, so i say GSR.

I would agree that a GSR will be best for your turbo set up. Drop in a LSD and some carbon synchros and you will be set.

What about a LS tranny with say a ITR final drive?

At this point i've got about 20k tied up in my engine build. If the gsr will handle it stock, then there's no point in my cracking open the case and adding more cost. I looked at some gears before posting the original question, but would rather hold off until later down the road if/when i need it. From what I've heard, gsr is the way to go, so i appreciate everyone who backed that up for me. Thats the direction i'll be headed in.
