93 Accord EX, cruise control , and break lights
Ok I'm completely stumped and need your help, i am not much of a wrench at all so please bear with me, this is also my first post and i did search first so be kind
I have a 93 Accord w 283,000 miles and i have put about 130,000 of that on the car, today i am driving down the turnpike at 70 mph with the cruise on and out of nowhere it just shuts off, cruise light on the dash goes off and car decelerates (i thought i may have heard a click but i cant be sure) i am not getting any response from the cruise control buttons on the steering wheel nothing, I get home and start looking on here, go check all the fuses nothing, now i notice my stinking break lights are on too! no key in ignition and headlights all the way off?????? i ended up giving up and unplugging the battery to keep from killing it, so what is going on here?????? thx in advance

ok well no one knows? its ok i finally figured it out, i was searching about the cruise control, not the break lights staying on all the time, so i searched for that finally and found my solution, There is a pointy plastic tab that comes into contact with the brake switch on the arm of the brake peddle, it was broke off and laying in my floorboard, i just found a nut and bolt that was about the same size and replaced the plastic piece w that, worked like a charm, of course my cruise didn't work, the car thought i was braking the whole time! so all is good, now that i found this place im sure ill have questions alot more
Beat me to this, I was reading this and thought about the "little" plastic button. Lost three so for (87-88-89) waiting for the 95 to go.
The cruise not working means the switch isn't quite closing all the way. Either get a new plastic button from the dealer (don't remember how much, not much ~$2?) or if you are going to stick with the nut and bolt, adjust the contact between the switch and the "nut/bolt" you have in there now.
