Default d16y8 swap problems

The car is a 96 ek dx obd2a with a y8 motor. Here's a few problems I got:
1st off a suposed ex harness. We put the harness in and its missing the knock sensor and has 2 extra plugs that go no where.
2nd: there is a vaccum line that has purge solenoid box on it. But my harness doent connect to it. Which leads to my 3rd problem. The idle goes up and down. I've ruled out the idle control valve, cuz I tested it..
I've also read that I'm suspose to have 2 o2 sensor. Could anyonre verify that? I was thinkn that it was a automatic engine harness. I'm new to eks and obd2 so plz help! Thanx

I'm having the same problems in my 97 ex with a D16y8 (atleast prob 3). Like you checked and even cleaned the IACV get the idle adjusted and running right and next day back down around 500 rpms coming to the conclusion it's a vaccum leak but haven't found it yet. Do you smell gas for a few seconds when you turn the car on?

I have a 00 D16Y8 (stock in the 00 EX), and I have two O2 sensors, one right downstream of the manifold and one by the CAT, I had to disconnect the 2nd one in order to put my exhaust on, thats the only reason i found that one out. As for your idle problem sounds like a vacuum leak if it's not your IACV. and I think you're gonna need that knock sensor for the VTEC, i'd have to check the pinout on my ECU to see where it connects. I know somewhere on here there is a connection diagram for the Y8...anybody help with the link?

From what I can remember about y8's and OBD2a/b is there needs to be the secondary O2. and the idle surge may be do to the cold start assist in the intake manifold of 99-00 y8s..
