Default 85 Prelude 1.8L Dual Carb Performance.

Car was tested bone stock with air filter removed. I am building a custom Air inlet system, after noticing that the factory unit stayed closed. This meant it was only feeding hot air from the block.

I am staying Dual Carb, and looking around for a Webber side draft kit, or at least the carbs and will make a plate. No Nos No Turbos.

I am removing any and all parts under the hood to lighten the load, and cut HP consumption from the PS belt.

The Interior is being stripped this week, and looking to run a little hotter gas. Has anyone run Purple Gas or others. 114 and 116 are avail at the track, but for now testing was done on bone stock, and 87 pump gas.

Does anyone else run on that Engine, and can give tips on tweaking it up a notch. I run 1/8th mile only for now due to that being the local strip. My times are consistant. R/Ts blow *** but workin on that.

I Know there are no makers of Header for the engine, but will either make or get made a set of larger pipes from header back. Is there any probs with running strait open pipes, or do I need anthing for backpressure.

Help Me out here guys.

Bone Stock Run on 1/8th mile strip results.

First Run Cold Engine. 11.584/59.13 mph

Final Run on Hot Engine. 11.777/57.84

Noticed my speed dropped each run but ETs were averaging 11.7 range over the evening.

What your looking at is no matter what bolt-on's you try, you will never be able to make too much power. And since you said no nos and no turbo and I assume no internal mods, your kinda stuck on performance.

Your basicly running 12 second 0-60 times which is very slow. If your stuck on this setup then I guess the sidedrafts and maybe a cam would help. Along with some weight reduction you could get it down in the 10's in the 1/8th but you gotta think about what your plans are gonna be with this car and if putting that kinda of money in the car will be worth running 10's to you.
