Default 92 hatch help

Hi I'm new to Hondas I have only ever owned GMs such as four camaros and my daily Buick. But gas is a problem. So I picked up a 92 hatch wit a 98 d16 vtec motor and trans swapped. Vtec does not work and is throwing Codes for crankshaft. A few of My honda buddys said I need a jumper harness for obd1 to obd2 and a vtec computer. Is this correct? If so where I get this stuff? Again I'm a gm guy this is whole new ball game for me.

you'll see a sticker on the ecu like this. if its the correct obd1 ecu for that sohc vtec engine then it should say p28

the 92 and only the 92 year civics came prewired through the cabin harness for vtec. so you don't have to run a wire from the ecu into the cabin. just have to locate the wire in the engine bay and then extend it to the vtec solenoid and vtec pressure switch.
