Default Trying to to bring back the shine....

I used this today for the first time and IDK if I'm doing something wrong.

My paint looked real dull so i decided to try polishing it. I know I'm supposed to do it in the shade or a garage and i don't have either which might be the problem. Anways.... so I apply the stuff and rub it and wipe it off with a different cloth and it looks awesome, you can see the difference in the paint. Well I finished my hood and it looked shiny then after 30min a slight dullness looked like it was coming back and it seemed to lose its polished look. I was doing this by hand using 100% cotton polishing clothes and by hand. Any ideas?

Outside temp was about 65-70degrees so the temp of the surface was warmer but didn't burn to touch. I just noticed it was warmer.

well first thing is,....you need to apply a wax over what you polish,...a polish removes all your protective layer to get to the imprefections. that might be your issue................usually a detail includes two steps at the LEAST. polish(what you did) and a sealant and then a wax.
just wax it.

I also clay bared it to get it smooth, I haven't finished polishing the whole car yet that's why I haven't waxed it yet. I'll see if I can find a shady place or do it earlier in the day when its not so hot out. I'll post some pix if I can, its really hard to see on PY.

I think it was the heat that was making it look sort of foggy. I finished polishing it and then waxed it with meguiars gold class paste wax. I need a buffer, my forearm is sore.

Usually it is next to impossible to achieve the necessary amount of friction to fully break-down a polish by hand.
You need a buffer

here's some pictures. I'm gonna try to get a buffer and see how it comes out.
