Default B18A cable ef trannsmission problem. Please HELP

okay so I was cruising down the street the other day, I see a red dc pull up w his chick i wanted to run em so I went for it..as soon as i do a 1st or 2nd gear roll the rpm's just redline & the **** doesn't grab! as if my clutch was slipping real bad! (and I know I would have had him! It slips the same in every gear at high rpm's!) but the car stil takes off in 1st perfect as if the clutch is still good & and it doesn't smell like a burnt clutch...the only thing I can think off is the synchronizer's in the tranny have gone bad or they aint grabbin..maybe just need oil? or the clutch cable is stretched out and isnt engaging the fork, or the clutch fork is loose or something got loose on it?? idk has anyone had a problem similiar to this before? any info is appreciated thanks

well if u think about it could be your throw out bearing or like u said by the cable being streched but ya it might be one of those two

Synchronizers are for smooth engagement of the gears. They couldn't cause this problem.

Why?

If this was the problem then it would be constant, not just in high rpm.

Perhaps your pressure plate has given out or your clutch cable is adjusted too tight to where the clutch doesn't fully engage like it should, causing it to slip in high rpm.

Because I have alot of stop leak, lucas trannmission oil & about 2 quarts of 10w-40 in there..I know thats might be too much but i think the oil is old and bad so the synchro's are engaging, idk if sychromesh will help here. and the cable was tight we loosened it, and might have loosened it too much, now the car doesnt go into 1st or any gear, and the pedal is REAL sensetive i barely have to let go to get it to grab, but we tightend it up and its not as tight as it was before? if feels worse now. but if it was a bad throw out bearing or pressure plate it wouldnt even take off in first right?

Yes, now that i think of it. It is. I take off in 2nd about to do a roll, it grips at 2000rpm - 3000rpm then at 4000 it starts slipping and it just redlines as if its in nuetral..this is the early stages of a clutch going bad right

i think you've come to the right conclusion there ^ aside from a clutch that was adjusted too tight, which it seems you've ruled out, i'd say that's your problem.

Yeah absolutly, So having the clutch cable too tight causes the clutch pad to deteriorate much faster? Never knew this!

yea, think about. if it's too tight, it's like you are driving with your foot partially depressed on the clutch pedal. and that's a bad thing obviously lol

number of splines and basically everything else is the same. only difference, and it's an important one, is that the spline diameter is 1/32" larger on the 92-93 transmissions. so a 92-93 clutch disc would be loose on a 90-91 trans. and a 90-91 clutch disc simply wouldn't fit on a 92-93 input spline.

My pressure plate bolts just got loose! !!! This is why its important to torque done all the bolt properly. I adjusted the clutch cable it didnt do anything but I ended up just changing out the stage 6 puck F1 racing clutch for a exedy stage 1 < It'll last longer I beleive. & swapped out the piece of **** S1 Ls tranny for a jdm Integra Xsi or Civic siR B16 trann..its either one cus my '91 clutch went on it...How can I determine whether its a DA6 teg or EF9 civic trann?
