Default Civic Purchase

New to the board, obviously. Looking to buy a new car, have my eye set on a 97 2 dr coupe hx with ~37k miles on it. Reason i'm looking at it is becuase the people never drive it, and i know theres nothing wrong with it. Just curious if this is a decent choice for some minor mods to the engine and to the look of the car. I'm taking this as more of a learning experience to modding cars. Since i don't completely know what i'm doing, just testing the waters. Anyway i was curious what you input is based on the hx model, is it ok to buy, or would you recommend searching for an ex or dx etc. Thanks for the info

I have an HX. It's a gas saver untill u swap.

U get power windows, and doorlocks and it still lighter than a EX or an Si.

But if u plan on doing major engine work then get a VX or CX hatch which are way lighter, which makes them faster with the same or less HP.

Another advantage about the CX and Vx hatches is that they're cheaper, leaving u with more money left over for mods.

thanks for the input, i figured it wasn't much of a hoss for speed, seeing as how when i drive it keeps back entirely way too much for me. (it's actually my bosses car) I'm not much interested in a hatch, more 4 dr or coupe. So on those lines i've been told the ex is the higher HP vehicle? I haven't looked into them much, but I'm going to start doing heavier and heavier research. I'm not looking to mod the car to speeder ricedom, just a couple of mods to give a little bit more power, then go on to paint/kit and interior stuff.
