less power = better gas mileage.

Not the same head on the engine, so you'll lose 10hp to the EX. You'll also not have remote entry, sunroof, rear anti-sway bar, and some other odds and ends. All I really mentioned, was stuff that I would consider "most noticeable".

HX= no options. no power W/M/L, and like the other guys said. made for gas mileage, not for speed, not for comfort, and not for fun. the only reason I would use a HX is for a beater, or to have fun tear apart. but hey, no options, means no replacing crap(motors).

ok. NO ac, but power mirrors and locks. weird. forget it. i'm not goin to argue about this crap. HX a friend of mine has, no options. i'm not sure about ac, but no options. he likes it, cuz no replacing motors and fuses and all. DX is the most basic model I know(but has AC), but HX is pretty low brand.

im not trying to argue with you either esp not about how low the trim level is i paid 11,800 for my car with 15 miles on it.... i am simply stating a point because you are saying i am incorrect with what i posted when i drive the car every day. Maybe they added some stuff to this particular one at the dealership? but i had nothing added... oh and i also have cruise

To see how the new HX stacked up, we obtained a test vehicle equipped with side airbags and a continuously variable transmission (CVT). The airbags and CVT are included in the vehicle's MSRP, and Honda doesn't offer any factory options on the HX. By comparing the price of our test car to a base HX, we determined that the airbags add $250 and the CVT adds $1,000. CVT is an option also.

honda doesnt offer factory options but cvt is an option?

oh i also found this on edmunds STANDARD FEATURES 05 HONDA CIVIC HX

http://www.edmunds.com/used/20....html

wait a minute does that say...... power mirrors..... or door locks.... and oh no cruise control wait a minute it even comes with a tilt steering wheel and a cd player... how odd? and a tach? no it cant be; but then again i dont not own one nor do i know what im talking about

p.s. everyone else i apologize for having to respond like this but some people just dont get it

IMO if you like the car go for it unless ac is a necessity for you its a fun car to drive and gets great mpg. If power is what you are looking for get something else. Also dont overpay for that thing i promise you it is marked up

Edmunds is not always correct, for example on the page you said to check it says that the HX comes with a CD Changer. And I'm 100% sure that the HX does not have a CD changer in it. Anyhow I still have the 04 Civic Coupe brochure and according to it:
2004 Civic HX Coupe:
No sway bars front or rear
Yes to power mirros
Yes to Power Locks
Yes to Cruise
Yes to a tach (only the DX coupe does not have the led lit speedo without the tach)
Ac is an accessory
yes to AM FM CD with 4 speakers
No to power windows

Engine is 117hp @ 6100
and 111Tq@4500
it's a lean burn engine and with the manual trans gets 36 city and 44 highway MPG
CVT gets 35 city 40 highway
(per the Honda literature)

ok wicivic. i wasn't sayin u were wrong. someone asked a question, i was tryin to give a dam response. and all u want to do is show how u know **** about a HX civic. ok. it says on your page, has some options. then on my page, says NO options. so we were both proved right, wrong whatever. what else do u know about civics? since u seem to be the honda-tech smart guy that buys cheapy civics to consider yourself a tuner or crap. have fun

ok first of all you were trying to prove me wrong... if not then why are you going through such great lengths to say that an hx has no power whatsoever... such as power mirrors and power door locks... The reason i do know these things is because i OWN ONE, i know a good little bit about MY car considering the fact that i drive it every day... number 2 i had no intentions of trying to be a tuner when i bought the car, i bought the car for the excellent gas mileage because i commute to and from work 60+ miles per day... 3 i am not a honda-tech smart guy i have been proved wrong on a few occasions and actually matt and i had our rounds about some things...4 i am honeslty more of a muscle car kind of guy i TRY not to give feedback unless its something that deals with a certain product i have used on my vehicle... or something that i do know... now you have to ask yourself why am i so adament about the mirrors and locks? because i use them every day therefore you trying to prove me wrong is calling me a liar, and a liar i am not it does not matter to me that you paid 5k more for whatever options you paid for, i know what i have on a base model hx and fact is fact if i had a digital camera i would post pictures of my door unlock button my power mirror button and cruise.... oh and about it being a cheap-o civic then yes it is because thats what civics were designed for...
