i put a header on my car and after i changed it i drove the car home and then the car wouldn't start after that. it has no spark and i have check up to the ignition coil. I was thinking it is either the ICM of the ECM. any help would be great. and does the check engine light turn off after a few seconds with the key in the on position?

that doesn't help i know how to check the dtcs i just want to know if the light should turnn off with the key in the on possition and the car off.

 

Im pretty sure it does a "bulb check". The light will turn on a few seconds and then turn off. If there is a problem with the pgm-fi system, the light will turn back on and stay on. Whats the code?

 

It will turn off yes, im aiming at the either the external coil or the main relay.

 

The light doesn't turn off non of the dash board lights turn off, and i found that there is no spark or injector pulse. so i bought a ecu on ebay and im hoping that will fix the problem.

 

WOW! Bold move. Usually replacing the ECU is the last step in the troubleshooting process.
