hey guys, for some reason vtec doesn't kick in on 1st gear, but it kicks in during 2nd all the way to 5th.... could it be because i have a blox cel eliminator on the secondary o2 sensor to reduce gas to the sensor? could that be the problem?

 

Engine? How do you know that VTEC isn't activating? Any check engine lights? Does it rev all the way up the correct RPM in first?

 

VTEC won't engage in 1st until the car is moving 20-25 mph (I don't remember exactly). That puts the engine at 4-5k rpm. In other gears, it engages at 2300.

 

it was working few days ago before i put a spark plug non fouler for the o2 to eliminate the cel... i do an oil change this weekend and maybe change the fouler back to blox cel eliminator and see what happens

 

how do you know vtec is not engaging in 1st gear. what RPM does 1st gear rev up to. what motor do you have.

 

b16a2... i don't hear or feel it engaging... i rev it up to redline and i didn't feel it kick in... it's only in 1st gear... all other gears are fine... i actually can feel the difference a few days ago in 1st gear...

 

why are you posting in the accord forum when you don't have an accord.
