Vehicle overheated after a long drive to San Diego and back to LA. The thermostat, fan switch, sensor, fan motor and coolant changed back in 11/2009 by a mom and pop shop. Went back to Honda with the same problem in 2/2010, they discovered that whoever did the last job didn't bleed the system correctly resulting in air pockets, after they fixed that I didn't have any issues until now in June. Anybody have any answers to this?

yes it is easy just run your car in your driveway with the hood open and the raditator cap off and as it warms up air bubbles with come up and just add distilled water untill all the bubbles come out and you will be good to go. this takes about 40mins . hope that helps

 

Hi there, I would like some more details on this process as my car is having the same problem. Do you pour the distilled water directly into the radiator? How much do you need to pour in? Do you pour constantly, or only when you see the bubbles come up? Any additional info you have would be greatly appreciated.

 

baisicaly after the bubbles just by a gallon or just get pre mixed antifreeze from the parts store......u might have a bleeder screw by the thermostat housing or at the highest point of the cooling system some vehicles have 2 bleeders .......and just in case u didnt know DO NOT PULL THE RADIATOR CAP WHEN ENGINE IS HOT

 

oopps yea just pore it in the radiator or the resivoure tank if u have one

 

Do you have any visible leaks? If yes, where? Is it overflowing from your reservoir?

Did Honda use their coolant, or are you still using the "Ma and Pa" coolant? Do you know which brand they (ma and pa) used?

They attach to the radiator, like so ..


Keep it about half-full with coolant and wait for the radiator fan to cycle a few times and/or the bubbles no longer appear. Plug it, remove it, put your radiator cap on.. voila.
