you are going in the right direction, to add to that, everything related with smog's and evap's needs to be on the car. if i'm not mistaken.

the motor needs to be newer than teh car its going in and all the related smog equipment from the donor motor needs to be in teh new car as well (as its designed to work with that motor in their eyes)

from there you take it to the ref not CHP... and these guys will know what there looking at

theres much more to it but thats the basics

i just BARD a 97 gsr in my eg coupe and it cant be JDM they recently stopped reffing JDM motors and as far as the actual swap you need to have all the emmissions hooked up for the specific motor in my case i converted my ob2 gsr to ob1 and used a 95 ecu on my 97 gsr and passed perfect all parts need to be stock or CARB for the motor they will check to make sure

From delsol dohc vtec...p30 ecu, intake manifold, everything has to be stock or can have aftermarket parts with carb o.e. Number Matching motor.

really. well i was planning to get the sir eg motor in there. but i i heard you just need del sol stuff. but since its a jdm motor could i still bar it with the delsol parts even tho its jdm?

and the gsr motor. it got me interested now cause on the website that sell the motors have everything but why did you have to convert it to obd1 if the motor is a obd2?

I just wanted to say that I talked to a ref today and he said he can smog a jdm b16a as long as it has all the obvious u.s parts that have been discussed . I am going to be swapping in my 93 hatch, i only asked him about b16a, and also i live in the bay area.

when'd you bar your car? i recently called the bureau and they told me it's free about 2 weeks ago..

*btw jdm motors can be bar'd? as long as you have USDM parts? does that mean like a b18c, but with everything basically needed for smog usdm?

sorry but i just want to verify are K-Series motors able to be bard?
someone told me i just need to change all the fuel lines and everything meant for a k- onto w/e chassis you want it in.

alright

ill see what i can do
so so far for a b16 is put usdm parts, make sure it pass smog, and the same year or a newer motor.

could anyone be pecific with the parts like exhaust manifold, intake manifold, ecu. is there any other parts i should worry about like fuel rail, injectors, wirings, dizzy ect. that has to be usdm?

The swap is easy. Just get yourself a usdm b16a3 with the stock intake and exhaust manifolds on it. Get yourself a P30 ecu from a b16 obd1 del sol. You will be able to use your evap canister as it is the same to a b16.
