No fire after new ignitor
I was driving and all of sudden it died. When I got it home I checked for spark and had none.
I found out the ignitor went bad, so I replaced it. While I was at it I also replaced the coil.
After the two new components I get spark, compression, and fuel but no fire.
I tried putting in the old coil and had the same symptoms.
So far I have done.
I don't know what else could of happened?

- Checked main relay - Good
- Coil (checked with new and old with ohm test) - Good
- Replaced distributor cap and rotor ( it was the original to the car)
- I tested the CKP, CYP and TDC. They all had 380ohms (according to honda manual that means its good)
- I took the fuel injectors and saw them squirt in the correct order.
- I did a compression check and they all have ~110psi ( kind of low, but should still at least run rough)
- I did a leak down test and all the cylinders check out.
- tried spare ECU
- For sanity reasons I redid the timing belt
- I also have no CEL codes
I don't know what else could of happened?
Fuel, Spark, and Timing are all good and there are no codes....... Not much left that it could be. Wish I could be of some help but ya got me on this one.
Off the top of my head I would say to Re-Check all of your ground connections and make sure you are getting fire into the cylinders.

does it turn over? does it crank and not turn?
you said you are getting spark and fuel but what about the oxygen?
did you check the ignition switch? fuses? check for shorts in the wiring? check to make sure your grounds are good?

I am baffled to why the ignitor went out and and then with a new one still doesnt work. I don't know what else could of changed. I fear maybe something else blew? Would a MAP sensor cause this? All my fuses are good.
make sure the wires on the ignitor are in the correct position. f22b1: (Firewall forward) YEL/GRN then BLK/YEL then WHT/BLK with the BLU on the single tab side. f22b2: YEL/GRN then BLK/YEL then GRN with the BLU on the single tab side. assuming you have a cd. however the ignitor going bad is a common problem. i've replaced two on my cd7 and countless more at the dealer
