Distributor Troubles..
Ok, car seemed to somewhat "bog down" so I pulled the dributor cap off and cleaned the corrosion that was inside (with a small wire brush and blew it out with an air compressor) and put it back on. Now the car will only crank over but not completely fire up.
The rotor spins when cranked but their is no spark.
Jdm H22a, internal coil
I have searched the countless distributor threads and have had no luck.
..any suggestions?

I very lightly took the discoloration off the points.. lets hope I didn't..
I have a new rotor that I was going to put on, but even after unscrewing the bolt to remove the rotor it wont move at all.

did you take the dizzy completely off?
if you did make sure you didnt spin the rotor piece that goes into the cam, if you spun it 180 degrees, your car wont start.
if you did take it off then pull it again and spin it 180 and try it, if not then dont spin it.

No this is the crazy thing,
All we did was take the cap off.
Try to remove rotor (wouldn't come off)
Put cap back on, won't start..
I have a huge show I've been working toward Saturday, its going to be frustrating if I can't make it...

sounds like you took a little too much off the points/rotor.
to check the coil grab a test light, ground it, touch the test light to the spring on the end of the coil and have someone crank it over..if it lights up then your coil is working.
the rotor can be a pita to get off. just keep pulling it will eventually come off.
Not sure which car you have but most hondas have a bolt holding on to the rotor. It may have been pointing down at the time, therefor unnoticable. If you did remove that bolt use a flat head and sledge hammer to get the rotor off.
you would have to shove that ****ing thing so hard that it should throw a red flag. what on earth would it damage even if you did. the car just wouldnt start.....
if you have to push with much force to get the dizzy in you are doing it wrong.
New Cap
New Rotor
Check the coil 1.4omhs so its good
correct voltage going into the distributor
still no spark..
need information on checking the ignition coil..
this is just crazy, drove the car into the garage.
went to drive out and now this.. i've gotta be running for the meet..

try replacing the ignitor in the dizzy (the thing with 4 wires going into it?)
just replaced mine..... fixed my no-start who knows...
I also had to replace the coil though.

I know the 99-01 civic distibutor cap works for the jdm h22a.
does the coil as well?
and information on removing and testing the ICM would be great.
