ATTS questions
So I got a new daily two days ago. Its a 2000 Prelude Type SH. The car is great and I am amazed I have never owned one before. If you include all the cras I only kept for a week or so before selling or trading, I have owned 33 Hondas/Acuras in the past 10 years. I know my way around a honda but this ATTS is something new and I have a few questions. First My ATTS light is coming on intermittently while I drive it will turn off but always comes back on. Does it just need a fluid change? I know that it probably uses the Honda ATF but not certain. Also How does the units perform under high boost high horsepower levels? I have decided that I want to boost it and I think it will make a very fun daily.
It sounds like you need some SEARCH.
First, to find out the intermittent problem, you want to pull the code.
Second, ATTS has a power/torque limit which is around 250whp/200wtq. It varies based on setup, but anything over the threshold and ATTS doesn't function.
Third, in order to properly tune a turbo-charged Prelude, you would need to revert to OBDI. This will automatically disable ATTS, since it requires the stock ECU to function.

Yes, try changing the fluid with Honda ATF first, that will tend to clear any random codes. I also discovered recently bad grounds can set off intermittent codes.
The rest is sadly true.

Last I heard, Emanage doesn't have full tune capabilities, just more than the rest of the piggybacks. But that's irrelevant to the OP, since he says he wants HIGH boost. He'll surely go over the threshold.
to remove the atts unit the best way to go about it is to fabricate an adapter plate to bolt on the base tranny to the SH block. like their telling you its very involved and requires alot of work here is a link to show you how.

Another way would be to buy a Euro R transmission with the LSD its a direct bolt on and as far as I know there is no need for an adapter plate. Good luck on your build.

I think he meant to ask if it can be equiped with both ATTS and LSD. The answer is no. And people kept complain about the 250whp, if it's a daily driver, do you really need to put down more than 250hp at the wheels?

when i was new to doing things, i went ahead and did the ATTS removal. i don't recommend it. i'm familiar with fabricating parts, but this is extremely time consuming. your plate can't be too thick, or you push your intermediate shaft out. it can't be too thin, or you break it around the second curve that you take hard like i did. unless you have very, very good estimating skills as far as where to drill your adaptar plate, you will need to bolt it up quite a few times and bolt up your intermediate shaft to mark each additional hole that you need. i wish i could give you more help, but i don't even have that setup anymore.
another possibility is that your bolts don't hold(i highly recommend lock washers). i'm sure someone out there has had that plate come off and sheared the end of the intermediate shaft in the transmission. two of the bolts have to be very short.
listen to kroon and shutweld...buy a base model if you're wanting to boost over 250whp.
