here is a picture of my driverside motor mount. the passenger side mount is on its way to this but my rear mount looks brand new still. anyone have any idea of why this happened. ive bought these mounts back in 2002 and been using them ever since. i also heard if oil gets on these types of mounts that they will deteriorate. but i have never had a issue with oil ever getting on anything. has anyone seen this happen before or know why this happens so i can try to prevent this from happening agian.

 

they are 8 years old now, maybe old age?

 

Naaa I have stock mounts, never replaced and mine look a lot better than those. That's looks crazy

 

i'd just say low quality rubber. You see this a lot in after market parts, the same engineering doesn't go into these parts like it does do in OEM products.

 

what brand are the mount i had a set of hasport mounts that are like from the 90s befor i went to hydro tranny and they are still mint i say cheep aftermarket mounts thats all and good aftermarket mounts like hasport have better qaulity materials in them than oem thats why you should have aftermarket good mounts for big power so your motor dosent go crazy under the hood

 

looks like mounts are in the sun and got dry and are cracking away, just like old bushings on car. maybe just getting old or cheap material. just buy new motor mounts inserts and your good to go, no need to buy new mounts. those looks like rubber mounts get some polyurtherr mount inserts or whatever they call it - the red mounts but they also ciome in black and other colors.

 

Since those are No good, get some innovative motor mounts. I got mine for my b16a crx. Cost me like 175 for all 3

 

Those are, without a doubt, some sort of aftermarket mounts. OE mounts last like 15 years. IT looks like those got filled with road tar or something.

edit: I stand corrected.. apparently they are hasport mounts..

 

ok, well these are authentic hasport mounts i bought in 2002 from thier website and thier logo is etched on each mount.i wish they were dried out. these things are so gooey whatever they touch it sticks to it and will not come off. any type of glove i use i have to throw away cuz they are no longer useful. they literally are dripping out of the mount down my car and on to the pavement. ive never seen anything like this before.
they have been in my car since day one with the same running engine. i got some really cheap aftermarket mounts to get this thing running for autocross this sunday. and was going to look for some of those inserts i hear about, but im having trouble finding them. could someone throw me a website that sells inserts alone?

 

send them back to hasport. if they are real they will fix them for free....my buddy had his rear mount bushing go they fixed it for free

 

really.. i will definitly give them a call then. i thought about that but being 8 years old and no proof of purchase i didnt think twice. thanks. i probably got the ones that were build on a monday or friday.. ill make sure i request for a wednesday built set..

 

you can send the mount back in and we will replace the urethane free under warranty
