Tire recommendation for 16"
Hey, I want to see what people recommend in tire sizes. A buddy of mine gave me his 16" wheels from his 01 Prelude. Right now I am on stock suspensions but I switch it out for my Teins RS from time to time. So the car is slightly lowered when the Teins are on.
Thanks
Thanks
Those two are the best sizes. Both are within 1 percent of the outer diameter of the stock tire size.
The choice between those two sizes really depends on what kind of tire you want to get, since most tires come in one size or the other, not both. Here are some of the best choices in 16" tires:
Decent-performing, longer-lasting, not-so-expensive summer tires:
Continental ExtremeContact DW 205/45-16
Yokohama S.drive 205/45-16
Fuzion ZRi 205/45-16
Stickiest summer tires, somewhat expensive and don't last as long as the previous group:
Bridgestone Potenza RE-11 205/45-16
Kumho Ecsta XS 215/45-16
Toyo Proxes R1R 205/45-16
Falken Azenis RT-615K 215/45-16
All-season tires, if you have to use the same tires in snow and frigid cold as in moderate to warm temperatures:
Continental ExtremeContact DWS
Kumho Ecsta ASX

Dude you rock! I am looking into Kumho Ecsta XS since a buddy of mine will give me Kumho bucks.
Okay. Just be aware that the XS isn't all that great in rain, not as good as any of the other tires listed above. So if you get them and you use them when it's wet out, be very careful and drive slower than usual.
I'm using the 205/45-16 Yokohama S.drive and so far they're great. The tires perform well in the rain and are actually a pretty sticky tire. Bought them off TireRack for $97/tire.
