Default Sedan trunk lid swap

I recently purchased an 09 civic si new. It had been sitting on the dealer lot for a while and finally decided to trade my wrx in on it. Wanted something with less payment and insurance cost.
Anyway I asked before I did the deal if the dealer would be willing to trade trunks with a civic lx on the lot so I could have a wingless trunk. They agreed, so I did the deal last night. The car was left at the dealer so I could put some stock parts back on my car and they could do the trunk swap on the si.
The dealer called me today and said the swap is too involved for them to do. Said the wiring harnesses for the taillights are different. Also told me the si has the third brake light on the trunk and the lx does not. I haven't personally looked at it yet but it seems it would be simple to do. Anyone have any help on this? I really would like a wingless trunk light my wrx had.

the trunk swap is pretty much plug and play...
and you'll have to supplement the third brake light..
look it up on ocho civic.com

I use either College Hills Honda or Majestic. No local dealer has been able to match their prices...ever. I saved 250ish bucks on a set of OEM headlights.

When I bought an EX rear deck for my 2006 LX 2DR, it came with the LED lights, and paid a lot less that CHH is offering. Can't believe CHH are still charging that much.

Weird, last June I traded in my wrx for the exact same reasons you listed, and also asked my dealer to swap trunks before I took delivery. My dealer tho flat out refused to switch the trunks saying it wouldn't be worth paying the techs time to do it. I much prefer the wingless look as well but it's kind of grown on me i suppose...

cost me about $20 and 30 minutes to get this brake light up. Swapped trunks with a local that lives down the street. he had an EX that has a remote trunk pop option so everything was plug n play. took about 2 hours to do. most of the time was spent on taking the torsion springs off and on. Needs a special tool but i used an L hex to get the angle and leverage needed to get them off the hooks.

wingless ftw

the only problems with trading with the LX would be it having the trunk popper or not.

Tell us more about this tail light. Looks legitimate.
