can i keep my sohc harness with ls swap ?
ok so i have an 95 civic wich i am putting a 93 ls with hydro tranny into and was wondering if i could keep the wire harness i have in it now(d16z6 or ex) insted of buying a new integra harness? ( if i need to modifie it please let me know exactly what i will need to do to make this work) let me know asap im doin swap tomorow - thanks
shore thing. i mean i can't imagine why it wouldn't work.. all the same parts and sensors are on both engines. aside from the vtec solenoid and vtec pressure switch which you can just leave disconnected obviously. and since you are using an obd1 harness with an obd1 engine setup your ecu, distributor, and injectors will all plug right in as well.
sorry to rain on your parade dude but you DO have to modify the Z6 harness... I just used a Z6 harness on my B16a and I had to extend a bunch of wires, a couple were for VTEC though so you won't have to worry about those.
The rule of thumb is to always us your original harness with d and b series swaps. An LS swap is easy and uses pretty much all the same sensors.
I do this on my B20AZ swap
I do this on my B20AZ swap
you will need to seperate the 02 wires from the loom so that they can reach the 02 on the LS which is located close to the collector, on the z6 its on the front of the header/exhuast manifold. you don't need to cut the wires, just seperate them from the loom then wrap them back up

plug and play done this many times u may have to extend ur alt wire and or ur oil pressure sensor wire (back of block) just depends on how unstretchered ur civic ex harness has be come and how comfortable u are with stretched wires
I sold that car over a year ago...long gone. Replaced it with a much prettier engine bay from a 2000 EM1....which i won't post a pic of, lol
