Default Humming again after bearing replacement...

The front left wheel bearing was replaced a little while ago, on my 97 Prelude for a humming noise at around 50-65mph. The noise stopped but recently returned after about 8500 miles. I believe the shop removed an NTN and installed a NSK unit which I got from Honda. My question is, will Honda honor the 12 month/12000 mile warranty.

i believe they will honor it if they installed it. Did you check to see if your tires need to be balanced or replaced??

its loose they probably did not torque it down to specs. check the torque specs and re-torque.

The front bearings are pressed in there is nothing to tighten.

While correct, the outer race is pressed in the inner race is held together by the back of the axle and the axle nut on the front. Without the axle nut installed the inner race will push out.....ASE????

Tires were balanced recently. The noise is at the left wheel again. And as far as torque specs, I think an impact wrench was used to remove and installed everything.

Put the car on a lift and drive the vehicle to at least 35mph. Have someone listen
with a stethascope to both knuckles. See if you hear the humming noise or any
difference between both wheels. Another way you can check it is to drive the car
on the road at the speed you hear the noise, then steer the car one direction and
then the other and see if the sound goes away then comes back. If you steer the wheel
to the left and hear the sound, it's probably the right side and vice versa.
