What are the Stock Springrates for the 1997-1998 and 2000-2001 ITR?
Pretty self-explanatory
And while I'm at it, what do you think are the max rates that the stock ITR struts can handle?
Front springs are linear rate, 4.4 kg/mm (245.872 lb/in), and rear springs are progressive rate, 2.5-4.4 kg/mm (139.7-245.872 lb/in).
FWIW the Spoon progressive rate springs which are designed for stock ITR shocks have rates of:
front 6.5 kg/mm (363.22 lb/in)
rear 5.5 kg/mm (307.34 lb/in)

Thank you.
There are some H&R race springs listed on the King Motorsports site - does anyone happen to know the rates of those?
I have a friend with an ITR and he wants the H&R race, but he would also like to know if the O.E struts will be okay or not.
Thanks again!

I just doubled checked. You have the rates backwards. front is 160-240, rear is 240.
As a comparison to spoom springs i usually throw in that H&R sports
have a comparative spring rate: 360 in front, 320 in rear.
and i'm sure with any spoom/aftermarket spring,
the "max" rate the spring can handle is probably around 350 or so.
really i think the shocks can handle even more if you want to sacrifice shock life by more
Shocks for me are considered a wear item

Are you sure about that? I thought the progressive rates were of the front springs

I read that they were 225 lbs front, 180 rear. Mine now are 500lb front 600lb rear, the speedvision integra is 800lb front 1200lb rear. I have a harsh ride but no body roll in the corners with a very predictable amount of oversteer that allows me to basically rotate the car slightly if I want to point it where I need it to go.

Why did you go with such soft rates?
