Default How do I tell the condition of a tranny if its already pulled?

Anything visually I can check to see if there is any major problems with the tranny? The tranny is already removed from the engine and I want to make sure its in good working conidition.

thanks

Just the obvious. See if there's metal in the fluid. Move the linkages and see how they feel. Turn the input shaft and see how it feels. Put it in various gears and turn the input shaft and see that the output splines turn okay.

There is no substitute though for putting it under the stress of pushing the car, as none of the above will find a bad bearing or gear.
