whats the ecu setup?

typically (i believe stock ecu's) do not allow you to hit vtec when revving in neutral, nor if your ect is up to temp.

you should pull a plug off one of your sensors to test your check engine light bulb. sometimes but rarely they burn out

S300? sounds like a launch control to me..Or the ECU is going into safe mode..Just guessing.

I myself have a similar problem. I have a 2000 automatic integra. I converted it to manual with a b20z and a type r lsd tranny. Car revs fine with auto ecu obd2.However I converted it to obd1 with an obd2b to obd1 harness alongside a 1995 obd1 p75 manual ecu. And now the car wont rev pass 5500. It hits 5500 but then just goes down and picks up again. The problem only persists while with in obd1?

How do I fix this?

Thanking you in advance

vtec related??? try checking the filter mesh inside the vtec solenoid see if its clogged with crud...unless the s300 map has the vtec pressure switch disabled???

for vtec to engage usually you need speed signal from VSS, pressure to vtec press switch, throttle at WOT (TPS)...
