anyone auto X with a sohc vtec motor or a mini-me setup?

 

I autoX with a non VTEC D, and I came second overall in total points, and first in class. The revlimit on yours may be fine, but I ran my car on the limiter ALL THE TIME!

 

I took PA State Championships with my 1993 Civic Ex AUTOMATIC back in 1998

 

To a large extent, autocrossing is less about the car and more about the driver. Don't feel like you need to have a particular car/engine/whatever to be successful. That kind of thinking does more harm than good. I've had my *** handed to me more times than I care to admit by cars that I thought had no business being that fast...

 

my girl and i auto-X our 98DX and it has brought home four trophys. we have a few people in sts that dont understand some rules or just dont care if you know what i mean.

i got a question though bout G stock. im currntky runnin my other car in stock class and i plan on bolting a scoop above my stock air canister. now will this put me in some crazy class? can i go to STS? or stay in g stock

I autocross my 92 Si.

Motor is stock cept for an intake.

Fun as hell. Can't wait to autocross now that I've got suspension on it.

 

i auto-x with a d15 currently! the motor isn't near as important as the pilot..

 

what about road racing with a sohc?

Yeah I've got a 96 DX that has done me very well this past year. I've gotten much better and now can place in the top 3 or 4 most events. For me right now it's all about the tires, Falken Azenis are the ****!!

 

I auto-x with a 99 ex (h-stock). The biggest difference came when I put Falken Azenis on it and learned how to drive. The motor has sufficient power. You just have to learn how to keep the speed through the turns...

 

Sept. 22 = autox event at FedEx (it's also my 19th birthday)

Ever hear of John Thomas? Next to the Mod cars, he's is the FASTEST driver in autocrossing (9x champ?). And he's in a 1986 sohc 1.5 liter! 11k rpm man!

the driver is more then the motor

 

it's called stock class....and there are more stock vehicles than modified out there....suck it up and just run what you brung!!!!

if you take the top 3 finishing cars at topeka this year and add all the parts together you get something like this:
3 cams
48 valves
6000lbs/in worth of springs
6500lbs worth of car
520lbs worth of driver
12 205-50-15 falken azenis
66mm of rear sway bar
