Default Funky piston!

I am currently building a G23 (H22 head, F23 block). To achieve a desired compression ratio, I decided to use Honda K20a3 pistons. I got them in today. They have this weird raised bowl on top of the piston. The spark plug will fire in this bowl, but its off center. Does anybody know the pourpose of this bowl? Its very peculiar.

i don't know the exact purpose of the bowl but i do know its normal. could have been just an easy way to reduce compression.

I think "the bowl" is designed for fuel efficiency, to create a better "swirling" effect inside the bowl to ensure the air/fuel mixture is burned completely.
