Icon6 97 EX-R Misfire like sound - Need some insight.

Hey guys. My 97 sedan (EDM SOHC F23) is acting up, started less than 2 weeks ago. Once you start the car, as it warms up... you can hear the vibration and see the needle of the tachometer drop, and then it goes back up.
As i'm driving, it really hesitates on the low rpms, sounds like an old VW beetle, takes a couple of seconds to come back to normal. It's annoying!!
So, i've replaced the fuel filter just in case (had one laying around brand new, thought it wouldn't hurt to replace it).
Also, i've swapped injectors from my old F22B1 which seemed in better shape, and it didn't do anything. The F23 injectors had a lot of carbon built around them.
About 3 months ago i've cleaned the EGR ports.
About 1 month ago i've cleaned the FITV and a couple of other things of the IM.
Resistance of the old spark plug cables was fine, spark plugs were gapped correctly.
I just finished putting a different distributor rotor (from old f22b1) and also upgrade the cap to a MSD coil to blast, along with the thicker MSD wires.
Still.. car is doing these misfires while idleing.

Any ideas of where i should dig in????

Any help is highly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

I had adjusted the spark plugs gaps about 3 months ago, took one plug out yesterday and the gap was still good.
Tomorrow i'll be removing the valve cover, see if i can adjust the valves and check the timing.
Just to make sure, that black cover around the camshaft pulley won't come off without the valve cover coming off first right?!
Thanks.

I took the valve cover off today, checked the timing belt (looks brand new), checked a couple of intake valves for clearance, changed the spark plugs and put it all back together.
2 hours later, i cranked the car... and the problem appears to be gone. I've learned something here. I SHOULD have checked the spark plugs resistance to begin with.
