VAFC tuning might actually help in some circumstances, however the Mugen ECU also has it's own mind with respect to ignition timing,
and it doesn't throw codes for a secondary O2 if you don't have or run one (I don't).

I've always wondered what the "Mugen Program" consisted of,
especially since the Mugen ECU is supposeadly different internally with respect to a factory ECU.
I think I've still got that link somewhere on my work computer. Ed

The rev limit is @9100.
To use with OBD II it would be ok since it works fine on my 97 ITR, but with the 2000 and '01 cars the ECU plug changed so you'd need a harness adapter.
From what I hear from those with Toda B's, they do make power up to or around 9100 (but some fuel tuning might be needed with a VAFC as well). Ed

Sandro, yes the VTEC crossover comes in at about 4700, and the redline is in the 9100 range (though things look just a bit off on the stock tach as I'm sure you might know).
It plugs right into my ECU harness on my 97 ITR, and I'm guessing that it will do so as well on your 98.
However, the only trick is that two wires need to be "re-wired/connected" in the wiring harness in order to get the air conditioning to run.
Thanks for the inquiry, Ed

Or you could buy a P28/Hondata 2/obdii adapter AND dyno time.
Chris ... there will always be a use for softscrub when I eventually wash my car!
After a conversation with a VA Trooper wherein he asks me if I was one of the F & F, ... D has dubbed me F&F Ed!
And if I may indulge the MODS just a bit longer, I also have my stock 97 ITR ECU ... to go. Ed
