Default oil filter sandwich plate or T into pressure sensor???

Im about to put my new piston and rod built engine in my crx and have been running the T adapter screwed into the oil pressure sensor spot on my other 2 b16s with no issues

my question is do you guys do the same thing or run the oil filter sandwich plates and what is a good one to run??

Ive always have wondered the same thing because im runing a T off my oil pressure sensor with a oil pressure gauge hooked up to it. Sandwich plate or no? Bump for that. And I got a sandwich plate as well H22.

With the engine vibration those T-fittings can break, especially if the turbo oil line and gauge oil lines are installed. The T-fittings are just brass pieces, they aren't very strong. Every installer does it their own way but I just think the T-fittings are ghetto, a very sloppy way to get the job done.

My block did have the oil cooler and I do miss that a little but I'd much rather have a more secure oil line for the turbo and gauge.

something to think about: just about every oil filter adapt. ive seen has the ports tapped for UN-filtered oil... clean oil that passes thru the filter goes into the engine thru the center threaded part... for oil pressure gauges and senors that would be ok but for feeding the turbo and what not i would just get oil from the stock pressure senor port ( which is clean filtered oil )... u can always make a remote "T" block if ur worried about breaking the block.... or u can use a remote filter for the turbo oil feed also....

I don't like the T because it's a pain to install. Getting the oil pressure sensor off can be a real pain. I also don't like the T extended off the back of the block, but it's not that big of a deal. With how cheap these China sandwich plates are, I'd go that route.

Off the golden eagle website

•Can be used for a turbo oil feed to supply your turbo with clean filtered oil

I am using the plate for my feed line and I used to use the brass T it held up fine for 3 years on my car but I think the sandwich adapter will make it much easier to remove lines and much cleaner also.Stealthmode makes a nice firewall mounted kit for the oil lines also if you choose to go that route.

what most on here have said is that the sandwich plate is the way to go, I currently have one, greddy to be in fact but I am getting rid of it because I was supplying my turbo contaminated oil. I guess the only way to go is golden eagle sandwich plate or buy a inline oil filter for your feed line(more money), which in my case, getting a Golden eagle would be more feasible.

I didn't think the oil sensor port on the back is filtered oil??? I thought that was the galley oil is forced from the oil pump after it is taken from the oil pan? please correct me if I'm wrong. I think I killed my turbo from bad oil. when it was rebuilt for the 2nd time in 2 weeks, I was told I had some contamination, so I changed my filter, oil...etc to correct this but 8 months later it went bye bye.... just a lil FYI if your thinking the cheap stuff does the same GE does, It doesn't.

I am not trying to be rude Smoovy but if your oil has enough debri in it to kill two turbos months apart then you have bigger things to worry about.I also dont really trust the explanations turbo companies give you especially Precision. They always seem to have a reason why its your fault the turbo failed. Then again it usually is user fault.

the oil line is going to be feeding my turbo im droping in a piston an rod motor cp pistons eagle rods, micro polished and balanced and a fluid damper pulley with a b16 type r head and ctr cams

im thinking about running it off the oil pressure sending unit spot but instead of the T coming off running about 8 inches of copper tubing really thin and coiled up so it has room to flex what are some good oil sandwich plates???

Z10 Golden Eagle and I am sure there are a few others but those two are the eaisest to be found.I would forget about the copper tubing and just use the oil sandwich adapter.

The same turbo was rebuilt twice. I thought it was done wrong but yes it was partly my fault. I should have stayed feeding from the sensor port if it is a filtered port??? it was a 6 year old turbonetics turbo. my very first and it lasted long for me. the turbo was rebuilt and I also changed to a sandwich plate at the same time and months later it blew. the only logical explanation could be my new feed, because of the contamination that I was told about.

Hello,

Nooby Q

I have and LSvtec with a Golden Eagle oil filter adapter plate. I want to run an OIL COOLER, as well as an OIL PRESSURE, and OIL TEMP gauge.

Are there enough ports for these 3 things on the GE oil filter adapter plate??

Thx
