Default Oil leaking from oil filter. Not your typical problem. Looking for solutions/ideas

I've got a fairly large oil leak coming from the seal between my oil filter/block. Probably one drop per 3 seconds.

This is on a 96 DX Accord with no oil cooler. I have replaced the filter multiple times and checked the obvious stuff such as doubling up the gasket, the oil pressure sender up above, etc.

I am 100% sure that the leak is between the block and the filter. I am 100% sure that the gasket on the filter is fine, but it still leaks. This leads me to believe that the filter mounting surface is warped or maybe cracked or something similar. Has anyone ever heard of this?

So I'm wondering, what can I do from here?

Do I put some hondabond on the gasket for the next filter and try that? It's my beater car so I'm not really willing to pull the motor for a solution.

Mostly curious if anyone has heard of an issue like this. It is new to me.

Thanks but if you read my post I've already confirmed that the leak is not coming from the sending unit.

i've never heard of that. doubled up gasket yes, but leaking otherwise, no.

i would definitely pull the filter off and give it a thorough visual inspection. you may need a small mirror to get a good look all the entire surface. make sure there are no cracks or other damage to the sealing surface.

Dumb question but are you using the same brand filter every time? Like a Fram for example? Is it not possible the seals on them are not creating a sufficient seal around the mounting point.

Why don't you try an OEM Honda or Mobil 1?
